Extended Stay America - Fort Wayne, IN

Fort Wayne, IN

Given the National Civic League's All-American City award on three occasions, Fort Wayne is the second largest city in Indiana. If you're looking for Fort Wayne hotels, Extended Stay America has two great places to stay, both offering a great price.

Business travelers often frequent Fort Wayne. Just a mile from our StudioPLUS hotel is ITT Communications, the city's fourth largest private employer. The Fort Wayne plant of this multinational corporate giant produces battlefield communications equipment as well as components for GPS and weather satellites.

Just 30 minutes from the hotel is another major employer in the Fort Wayne area, the BF Goodrich tire plant. If your business is trucking, you may want to visit the International Truck and Engine Company's Fort Wayne Truck Development and Technology Center.

One of the sweetest companies in Fort Wayne is DeBrand Chocolatier, makers of some of the finest fancy chocolate in the world. If time permits, take the 45 minute tour of their headquarters and be sure to spend plenty of quality time in the gift shop.

Fort Wayne offers a unique educational experience to nearly 12,000 students at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). This joint venture between Purdue University and Indiana University was created in 1964 and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Fort Wayne is a mecca for automobile enthusiasts. Classic car lovers will want to visit the Corvette Classics Museum and check out more than fifty beautifully restored classic Corvettes, some dating back to 1953. Named by MSNBC as one of the "Top Ten Gearhead Destinations in the United States", Fort Wayne's Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum boasts three floors containing over 120 vehicles from 1894 through 1999. And if big rigs are your thing, head on over to the National Automotive and Truck Museum of the United States, featuring high-wheel trucks from 1908 through the present.

Other local venues include the Fort Wayne Firefighters Museum, the Jack D. Diehm Wildlife Museum of Natural History, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Families traveling with kids should visit Woody, the Talking Tree, at the Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory. The Conservatory features over 500 species of plants and 72 different cacti.

Be sure to bring walking shoes so you can enjoy some of the recently developed paths and paved walking trails Fort Wayne has to offer. Called the Rivergreenway Trail System, this pathway encompasses about 20 miles of trails throughout the greater Fort Wayne area.

Golfers will want to visit the Cherry Hill Golf Club. This 18-hole championship course is a great combination of beautiful scenery and just enough challenge to be fun.

For a great Fort Wayne hotel, Extended Stay America is a terrific choice.
